Mariano wants future Spain return

Lyon striker Mariano Diaz would like to return to La Liga in the future but he insists he is happy at the Ligue 1 club.

The Dominican Republic born striker has been in fine form this season, netting 16 goals for the French giants following his €8m summer move from Real Madrid.

“I am very happy in Lyon, but one day in the future I would like to return to Spain,” Mariano told an interview with Cadena Cope.

“It was the correct decision by Madrid to let me go…for me, for them, for Lyon. But it is true that it would be a dream for me to return in the future.

“PSG are a great team, but Real Madrid have more experience and they are the holders of the competition, so for me they are the favourites.

“If Madrid can keep the front three in check and not give Di Maria too much space, they will be in a strong position to win the game.”
