Betis beat Seedorf’s Depor

Real Betis condemned Clarence Seedorf to defeat in his first match in charge of Deportivo La Coruna with a 1-0 victory in Estadio Riazor.

Lorenzo Moron netted his third goal in just his second first-team start to win the points for Quique Setien’s side, who have risen to 8th with the victory.

Debutant Junior Firpo slid the ball across goal for the striker to net from close range in the game’s decisive moment and whilst the hosts had chances to level, Betis held on for a rare clean sheet.

Depor – who are without a victory since 9 December – lie second-from-bottom at the foot of the table and three points from safety.

Seedorf next takes his new side to Alaves, who have recently moved out of the bottom three with 10 points from their last five games.
