Jese to return to Stoke squad

Jese Rodriguez could make his first Stoke City appearance since November as his side face Brighton this weekend, claims manager Paul Lambert.

The forward, on loan from Paris Saint-Germain, has not been included in a matchday squad since a victory over Swansea on 2 December – where he was an unused substitute.

The 24-year-old has featured only nine times for the struggling English club this campaign and has frequently had to return to the Canary Islands due to the poor health of his son, who was born prematurely.

That had sparked reports he could re-join Las Palmas on loan in order to be closer to his baby, but this move never materialised.

“His life is in a tough moment but he’s back and played well for the Under-23s and will play a part,” Lambert told reporters, as cited by Diario AS.
