Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid are both keeping tabs on the future of Napoli Coach Maurizio Sarri, according to reports.

As reported by our sister site Football Italia, the 59-year-old is currently on an annual salary of €1.4m with an €8m release clause although reports indicate the club want to renew and increase these figures.

El Mundo Deportivo have followed up on a story in Sportmediaset which suggests both Madrid clubs believe the Italian should be their future boss.

Los Blancos reportedly see Sarri as Arrigo Sacchi’s ultimate successor, while Atleti are said to be drawing up contingency plans should Diego Simeone leave the club in the near future.

Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain – where respective Coaches Antonio Conte and Unai Emery are both said to be under growing pressure – have also been linked to the Napoli tactician.
