Barcelona are prioritising the contract renewal of defender Samuel Umtiti and multiplying his €60m release clause, say reports in Spain.
The French defender’s current deal runs to June 2021 but his release clause is considered to be extremely low in relation to his importance to the club.
Manchester City reportedly attempted to launch a bid for the 24-year-old, but Diario Sport report the Catalan giants will now work towards a renewal.
Signed from Lyon in 2016, the central defender has starred for the Blaugrana this season and they are said to wish to extend his deal by a further two years and increase his clause to €200m.
