Atletico Madrid eased to a comfortable 3-0 victory over relegation-threatened Las Palmas on Sunday to strengthen their grip on second place.
Despite the absence of Diego Costa due to injury, second-half goals from Antoine Griezmann, Fernando Torres and Thomas Partey were enough for Los Rojiblancos.
The home side dominated throughout but had to wait until the hour mark for Griezmann to break the deadlock with a neat finish, before two further goals followed as the islanders wilted.
Atleti stay 11 points adrift of League leaders Barcelona but now have a six-point cushion on third-placed Valencia, while Las Palmas remain 19th and five points from safety.
