Sevilla miss out on quartet – reports

Sevilla will admit defeat in pursuit of four potential targets this month in Joao Mario, Aleix Vidal, Javier Pastore and Daniel Sturridge, say reports.

Inter’s Portuguese midfielder Mario is set to join West Ham United, with the Milanese giants reportedly set to swoop for Paris Saint-Germain’s Javier Pastore to replace him.

Liverpool striker Sturridge is weighing up a move to the Nerazzurri, with Sevilla now set to focus their attacking focus on Chelsea’s Michy Batshuayi, who will leave Stamford Bridge if the English champions find a replacement.

Vidal – formerly of Sevilla – is now reported to be closer to a move to Roma, where former Los Rojiblancos sporting director Monchi is a big fan of the €10m-rated full-back.

Sevilla are said to be close to agreeing a loan deal with Swansea City midfielder Roque Mesa for the remainder of the campaign.
