Faurlin joins Real Mallorca

Argentinean midfielder Alejandro Faurlin has returned to Spain to join third tier Real Mallorca after a stint with Mexican club Cruz Azul.

The 31-year-old left Getafe in summer to join for the Mexican giants, who were at the time managed by Paco Jemez, who is now in charge of Las Palmas.

The former Instituto and Palermo midfielder spent six seasons with Queens Park Rangers in England, whom he helped to win promotion to the top flight in 2011.

Faurlin netted five goals in 30 appearances in La Liga 123 for Getafe last season but started only three matches in Mexico – all in domestic cup competitions.

Mallorca currently sit top of Segunda III, with just one defeat in 22 league outings so far.
