OFFICIAL: Lemos leaves Las Palmas

Las Palmas have confirmed defender Mauricio Lemos will exit the club on Tuesday to join Italian side Sassuolo.

A statement on Las Palmas’ official website explains “an agreement in principle” has been struck for the Uruguayan defender to sign for the Serie A club.

The central defender is set to undergo a medical with the Neroverdi this morning after the two clubs agreed upon a deal.

The Gran Canarian club have also confirmed the 22-year-old was leaving on loan, although there was no mention of whether the deal included an option to buy for Sassuolo.

Lemos has made 52 appearances for the Gran Canaria club having initially joined from Rubin Kazan for a fee of €2m and having previously been linked to Barcelona.
