Zidane: Madrid ‘flipped switch’

Zinedine Zidane believes Real Madrid “flipped the switch” during their 7-1 demolition of Deportivo La Coruna on Sunday.

“It was a very good match for us,” the Coach said after the game.

“After we went 1-0 down, we started to play and got a good result. I’m glad because we needed a game like that.

“Scoring seven goals isn’t something you do every day. Now we have to keep this going and chain a series of positive results.

“We did a very sincere job defensively. We flipped the switch and I’m happy for all the players.

“Our performance was no different to the one against Villarreal, but this time the ball went in.

“4-3-3? It’s not important. I liked our attitude and the chances we took. Bale? I’m happy for him because he’s gaining consistency in his game.

“Isco? As Coach, I have to make decisions and it’s not easy. Ronaldo’s kick to the face? He’s fine, although he needed two or three stitches.

“Benzema whistles? If you go out and get whistled, it can affect you. What we always want and need is having our fans with us, through thick or thin. We want good energy from them.

“BBC? They’re three players who have shown great things in the past. They bring extraordinary energy to the others.”
