Preview: Las Palmas-Valencia

Las Palmas, deprived of top goalscorer Loic Remy, will be looking for their first win in eight when they host high-flying Valencia on Saturday.

Las Palmas boss Paco Jemez on Remy’s claim that he had been “treated like rubbish”: “I’ll make the issue of Remy clear. If you don’t know what I’m saying, buy a dictionary.

“I talked to him in front of 30 people. Remy’s a liar because he didn’t tell the truth.

“For me, Remy is finished. I don’t want to know anything else about him.”

Valencia boss Marcelino on criticising his team after their win against Alaves “I said we weren’t at our usual level, and we won’t try to repeat it.

“We’ll play at our highest level. It’s true that our opponents were at a very good level.

“We’ll start this game differently. I don’t think the answers I gave the other day were that harsh.

“I never spoke of bad attitude from the team. We all believed that we were already in the semi-finals.

“I come from a humble family, so I didn’t like that. If you consider yourself better than your opponents, you’re always close to making a mistake.”
