Everton want Bayern’s Bernat?

Premier League side Everton are reportedly considering a January swoop for Spanish left-back Juan Bernat.

According to the Liverpool Echo, Everton boss Sam Allardyce is ‘desperate’ to sign a replacement for the injured Leighton Baines.

Consequently, his search would have taken him to Bernat, with the newspaper suggesting a move to Goodison Park would ‘boost’ his World Cup chances with Spain.

The 24-year-old joined Bayern Munich from Valencia in 2014 and has made 103 appearances for the German giants, yet only two of those have come this season.

Everton, meanwhile, have already spent around €57m on the signings of Cenk Tosun and Theo Walcott but have lost their last four games.
