Ronaldo plans 2018 United return – report

Cristiano Ronaldo is eyeing a summer exit from Real Madrid and has reportedly told teammates he wants to re-join Manchester United.

The Portuguese star is said to be deeply unsettled at the Bernabeu and feels ‘betrayed’ by the club for failing to renew his contract, according to Diario AS.

The report states the 32-year-old has already informed his teammates of his decision and has cited his failing relationship with the club’s president Florentino Perez.

Ronaldo’s current deal with the Spanish and European champions expires in June 2021 but he has been promised a renewed deal with an increased salary, but this has not been forthcoming.

Having joined Madrid from United in 2009, the Ballon d’Or holder earns €21m annually, which has been eclipsed by Neymar at PSG (€36m) and Lionel Messi’s new contract at Barcelona (€50m).
