Quique quiet on Stoke links, but…

Espanyol boss Quique Sanchez Flores has refused to comment on Stoke City, but the Catalans have reportedly targeted Javi Gracia as his replacement.

Reports on Thursday claimed Stoke had offered their managerial vacancy to Sanchez Flores, and the former Watford boss did not deny his interest in the role.

“Stoke? No comment,” he said after Los Periquitos' 2-0 win at Levante in the Copa del Rey on Thursday.

“It's a day for Espanyol, the club, the players and the fans. It's a celebration, a time for us to enjoy ourselves.

“My commitment belongs here. I'm very grateful to Espanyol. They've given me all the tools within their power to work with.”

Sport adds Sanchez Flores has not informed Espanyol of a proposal from the Potters but notes his current employers have already sounded out ex-Malaga and Rubin Kazan Coach Gracia if the 52-year-old moves on.
