Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann has significantly increased his demands to Manchester United, throwing a future deal into question, say reports.

The 26-year-old was reportedly very close to moving to Old Trafford last summer before Atleti’s player registration ban was not overturned in May, meaning the Frenchman signed a new deal in Madrid.

El Desmarque cite a report in the Daily Mirror claiming United have been quoted by Griezmann’s representatives at £400k a week ‘to snub Barcelona and join the English club’.

The Catalan giants have reportedly ramped up their interest in the former Real Sociedad player but moves for Ousmane Dembele and Philippe Coutinho may make this move unlikely.

Initially, United would have paid Griezmann – whose release clause at the Wanda Metropolitano stands at £90m – £290k a week, says the reports, ‘but the goalposts have now moved significantly’.
