Alaves have completed the signing of Celta Vigo striker John Guidetti on a loan deal for the remainder of the season, it has been confirmed.
The Swedish striker has not started a La Liga match this season following the arrival of striker Maxi Gomez in summer, with the Uruguayan netting eight times in 18 starts.
Gomez was then heavily linked with a €20m move to the Chinese Super League but the transfer fell through after a breakdown in communications.
Guidetti, 25, has only played a total of 105 minutes of action for Celta and has now joined the Basque side, who are currently in the relegation zone in La Liga.
The striker’s deal at Estadio Balaidos runs until 2020 and he possesses a €25m release clause but it is thought the loan switch includes an option of a permanent switch to Alaves.
