Preview: Celta-Madrid

Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale are expected to reunite when Real Madrid face Celta Vigo on Sunday, in a must-win for Zinedine Zidane’s men.

Ronaldo and Bale last played together 104 days ago, when Madrid beat Borussia Dortmund 3-1 in the Champions League on September 30.

Isco is also likely to return after missing Los Blancos’ 3-0 defeat to Barcelona in the Clasico before Christmas, which saw them fall 14 points behind the Catalans at the top of La Liga.

However, Karim Benzema and Sergio Ramos are ruled out throough injury and Dani Carvajal is suspended, whereas Celta have a full squad to choose from.

“There’s a need to win every game, to fight for every point that’s at stake,” Coach Juan Carlos Unzue said at a Press conference.

“If we want to beat them, we’ll have to be at our best. From experience and with only 17 games played, there’s no advantage that can be considered definitive.

“Barcelona are in a favourable position, but Real Madrid still believe the comeback is possible.”

Madrid have won 12 of their last 15 meetings with Celta, but the Galicians picked up a 2-0 victory over the capital side on home soil only four years ago.
