Ramos set to miss fortnight

Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos is set to miss two weeks after being diagnosed with a calf injury, the club have confirmed.

The 31-year-old is set to miss his side’s La Liga fixtures against both Celta Vigo and Villarreal while also excluding him from the second leg of the Copa Del Rey clash with Numancia.

“Following tests carried out on Sergio Ramos by the Sanitas Real Madid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a muscular injury in his left calf,” read a Real Madrid statement.

“His recovery will continue to be assessed.”

Nacho Fernandez and Jesus Vallejo will be vying to partner Raphael Varane in the heart of Madrid’s defence.
