Paris Saint-Germain are confident that playmaker Javier Pastore, a reported target of Sevilla and Atletico Madrid, will remain at the club.

The Argentinian international has been heavily linked with a move away in January, with the Spanish duo along with Inter said to be interested in his signature.

“I’ve talked a lot with him,” PSG Coach Unai Emery told AFP.

“When he’s good he is an important player, when he maintains his consistency, when he trains and plays well.

“He didn’t tell me he wanted to leave. I hope he’ll train with us and that he’ll be ready to play.”

The 28-year-old moved to Paris from Palermo in a landmark €43m deal in 2011 but has featured in fewer than half of the side’s Ligue 1 matches in each of the past two seasons.

Pastore has netted 48 times in his six-year stint at the club.
