Celta to miss out on Layun?

Celta Vigo may miss out on reported defensive target Miguel Layun to Italian club Cagliari, who have reportedly lodged a loan offer.

The Mexican international has fallen out of favour at FC Porto, making only two starts for the Portuguese league leaders this season.

A report in Faro de Vigo last week stated Celta see the 29-year-old as an ideal candidate to add depth to their left-back position, currently occupied by Jonny.

Reports in Italy now suggest top flight strugglers Cagliari have offered a loan deal including a €7m option to buy at the end of the season.

Layun spent twelve months in England with Watford before moving to Porto in 2016 and would be available on an affordable permanent transfer or as a loan deal.
