OFFICIAL: Valencia’s Mir joins Wolves

English club Wolverhampton Wanderers have completed the signing of Valencia striker Rafa Mir on a four-and-a-half year deal, it has been confirmed.

The 20-year-old has hit 15 goals in just 19 League appearances for Los Che’s B team in the same division this season but has failed to break through since making his senior debut in November 2015.

That debuted was handed to him by former Coach Nuno Espirito Santo – who is now Coach of Wolves –which is thought to be an influential factor in his decision.

The deal worth is reported to be in the region of €1.5m, and comes after Marca had reported earlier this week that the young forward would join Real Madrid in a €500,000 deal.

“I'm really excited to play with this team and to try and help the players achieve all the goals that the club has,” Mir told the Wolves club website.

“It's a club that has already played in the Premier League. It's one of the biggest clubs in England and I'm really looking forward to my time with Wolves.

“I think the type of football that is played in England is very good for me as a player. It suits me and I think, with training, I could bring some good things to the team.

"Nuno played a big part of my decision to come here, Wolves is a big project and it's an exciting challenge to be a part of it.

“It's great to be able to work with a coach that I already know and that was an important factor in signing for the club.”
