Filipe Luis could miss Atletico Madrid’s opening two games of 2018 after the left-back picked up a hamstring injury.
A medical report on Atleti’s official website confirms tests have shown “a grade-I muscle injury to the hamstring in Filipe’s right thigh.”
Consequently, the Brazilian is likely to be out for up to 10 days, leaving him unlikely to face Lleida in the Copa del Rey next Wednesday or Getafe on January 6, in Los Colchoneros’ first Liga game of the New Year.
Lucas Hernandez is likely to deputise Filipe on the left of Atleti’s defence, with the side currently in Egypt for a friendly against Al Ahly.
