Montella wants N’Zonzi stay

New Sevilla Coach Vincenzo Montella wants to bring Steven N’Zonzi back into the first-team and for the midfielder to stay at the club.

The French midfielder was involved in first-team training with his teammates for the first time in over a month, after being banished to the reserves under previous Coach Eduardo Berizzo.

Whilst the 28-year-old had looked certain to leave Los Rojiblancos in January, with Arsenal and Everton reportedly keen, the change in management may allow him to have a change of heart.

The former Blackburn and Stoke midfielder fell out with Berizzo after an argument in November’s Champions League clash with Liverpool, and has not featured in a match day squad since.

N’Zonzi is said to have been frustrated with the club’s reluctance to sell him over the summer transfer window but a report in Radio Marca Sevilla insists the club now want him to stay beyond January.
