Everton make €30m N’Zonzi offer

Everton have lodged a bid of €30m (£26m) for out-of-favour Sevilla midfielder Steven N’Zonzi, according to reports.

The French midfielder reportedly stormed out of the stadium after being substituted off at half time during November’s Champions League draw with Liverpool.

The Andalucians were trailing 3-0 at half time but completed a rousing second half comeback to draw the match 3-3 but the former Blackburn and Stoke midfielder had reportedl already left the ground.

The 28-year-old, who's contract contains a €40m release clause, has since been banished from training with the first-team squad and he played no part in any of the seven matches since for Los Rojiblancos.

Diario AS cite a report in The Daily Mail that Everton – now managed by the midfielder’s former Blackburn boss Sam Allardyce – have made their interest official and submitted a bid.

N’Zonzi may have been given a reprieve in Andalusia due to the sacking of Coach Eduardo Berizzo, who he had primarily fallen out with.

Vincenzo Montella was appointed  as Berizzo’s successor on Thursday.
