Suarez hails Barca ‘collective’

Luis Suarez hailed Barcelona for “collectively playing as a team” during their 3-0 win at Real Madrid in the Clasico on Saturday.

Suarez scored his fifth goal in seven trips to the Santiago Bernabeu, but while he admitted it “helped me a lot”, the forward was just pleased to help Barca beat their arch-rivals.

“We’re 14 points clear of Real Madrid, but they have a game in hand and there’s also Valencia, Atletico…” he said after the game.

“They’re teams that are pushing us and we can’t ignore them. My goal? Personally it helped me a lot, but what makes me happy is how we play as a team.

“We played collectively, applying good pressure and making the most of the chances we had.

“Supercopa? The start of the season is difficult to assess, plus they went into it on the back of winning the Champions League.”
