Atleti reject €22m Vrsaljko bid

Atletico Madrid have reportedly rejected a €22m offer from Napoli for defender Sime Vrsaljko and appear to be blocking any January departure.

The Naples-based club are keen on signing the Croatian, who previously had stints in Italy with Genoa and Sassuolo, next month to strengthen their defensive department.

Vrsaljko has only started 15 La Liga matches since joining Los Rojiblancos last summer from Sassuolo, with Juanfran preferred in the right-back slot.

A report in Il Mattino states the Serie A club have now tabled a €22m offer with Vrsaljko being offered a four-year contract worth around €2.8m per season.

However, this has apparently been rejected with Atleti seemingly keen to keep the full-back at the club for the remainder of the current season at least.
