Ramos: Madrid ‘great’ enough

Sergio Ramos asserts Real Madrid “have a squad that’s great enough to fight on all fronts” this season.

Madrid are looking to become the first team in history to be crowned world champions six times when they face Gremio in the Club World Cup Final on Saturday, and Ramos is confident lifting the trophy will act as a catalyst to yet more silverware.

“The winter market is going to give you [journalists] a lot to talk about,” the defender, who will play through the pain barrier, said at a Press conference.

“Transfers? It’s not up to us to make these decisions. I’ve always said that we have a squad that’s great enough to fight on all fronts.

“I’m feeling better after my calf problem and I’m available to the Coach. I like to play in every game.

“However, it was quite a contracture and I’d have made another decision if it wasn’t a Final.

“VAR? It’s been slow to reach football. Technology will help, but everything will be difficult until it starts.

“Ultimately, the two decisions that it made were the right ones. Spain? I don’t think we won’t be at the World Cup.

“I don’t think we’ve lost in the offices what we’ve earned on the pitch.”
