‘N’Zonzi still a Sevilla player…’

Sevilla President Jose Castro accepts Steven N’Zonzi could leave in January but ‘if not, he has two-and-a-half years left…’

N’Zonzi has spoken publically regarding his unhappiness at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan and has been strongly linked with a return to the Premier League, Arsenal and Everton reportedly among his suitors, having been in London on Monday.

“We gave him permission to see his son in London. He has made some statements we’ll ask him about when he comes to training on Thursday,” Castro told El Laguero, Estadio Deportivo reports.

“The reality is that he isn’t in the plans of the Coach, from what I can tell, but that doesn’t mean it can’t change at any time. There is a contract and obligations to meet. We’ll see if there is a solution that satisfies both sides.

“If not then he is our player. He has two-and-a-half years of his contract and he will have to fulfil them.”

Castro also updated on the situation regarding Vitolo and his controversial move to Atletico Madrid via Las Palmas.

“It’s in the hands of the lawyers. I’d prefer not to talk about it much but to repeat what I have said, that Sevilla was going to defend itself,” Castro noted.

“I’ve already said that no one was going to laugh at Sevilla.”
