N’Zonzi heads to London, future unclear

Steven N’Zonzi’s future at Sevilla looks increasingly uncertain after being left out of the matchday squad for a fourth consecutive game.

The French midfielder is not included in Los Rojiblancos 21-man squad for their trip to Slovenia to play Maribor this week, having been excluded from the wins over Villarreal, Cartagena and Deportivo.

The former Blackburn and Stoke midfielder reportedly stormed out of the stadium after being substituted off at half time during the Champions League draw with Liverpool a fortnight ago.

Sevilla Info report he has been granted permission to visit London to see his daughter, but this will ‘only increase’ speculation he wants to return to the English Premier League.

Arsenal and Everton are thought to be the two clubs with the highest level of interest in the 28-year-old, who has a €40m release clause at Estadio Sanchez Pizjuan.

Sevilla squad:Sergio Rico, David Soria, Juan Soriano, Corchia, Mercado, Kjaer, Lenglet, Escudero, Geis, Pizarro, Banega, Krohn-Dehli, Sarabia, Navas, Borja Lasso, Goose, Franco Vazquez, Nolito , Correa, Ben Yedder, Muriel
