Sergio Ramos returns for Real Madrid against Athletic Bilbao, who are under huge pressure after their Copa del Rey exit to third-tier opponents.

Ramos had missed Madrid’s last three games after he broke his nose in the Derbi against Atletico two weeks ago, but he is back alongside Raphael Varane in central defence tonight.

Keylor Navas also starts his first game in La Liga since October 1 after recovering from a thigh injury, in what is otherwise a full-strength XI named by Zinedine Zidane.

However, there is no Gareth Bale, who is struggling with yet another calf problem, while Marco Asensio is still out with a pelvic injury.

Athletic, meanwhile, have won just three of their 13 League matches this season, including none of their last five, and have beaten Madrid just twice at home in 12 years.

Their season reached a new low when they lost 1-0 at home to third-tier Formentera in the Copa del Rey midweek, but Coach Jose Angel Ziganda is not thought to be under any immediate pressure.
