Paco Jemez rules out Las Palmas

Paco Jemez has revealed he has rejected an approach from Las Palmas as it is ‘not the right time’ but is ‘certain’ he will join the club in the future.

The 47-year-old spent nine months in charge of Los Amarillos – Jemez’s hometown club – between 2010 and 2011 and is currently unemployed after leaving Mexican club Cruz Azul last month.

“Now is not the time to go to Las Palmas,” Jemez is quoted as saying by Diario AS.

“I thank the club and it’s president Miguel Angel Ramirez for their approach and for their interest but now is simply not the right time for me.

“It is important for me to spend time with my family but I am convinced that one day in the future, I will join Las Palmas – I am certain.”

The former Spain international has also reportedly turned down an approach from manager-less Alaves.
