Madrid want €110m Icardi – report

Inter striker Mauro Icardi is said to be open to the idea of joining Real Madrid, but Inter want to give him a new contract, according to a report in Spain.

The highly-rated Argentine has a €110m release clause in his contract with the Milanese giants which Marca report is a figure which the Spanish and European champions could meet.

The report states that officials at Madrid are becoming increasingly concerned with their side’s current campaign and are keen to strengthen their squad in the next two transfer windows.

The Nerazzurri are said to be hopeful of the 24-year-old signing a new deal at the San Siro which would increase his annual wage from €5m to €7m.

Icardi, who has scored 15 goals in Serie A this campaign, stated last week ‘he wouldn’t answer a call from Real Madrid’.
