Yeray Alvarez could feature for Athletic Bilbao against Formentera in Wednesday night’s clash after being given ‘the all-clear’ from cancer.
The 22-year-old has not featured at all this season after receiving chemotherapy treatment for testicular cancer for the second time in the space of a year.
“Having received the all-clear medically, he is fully available to train with the rest of the group in the activities the technical staff considers appropriate,” an Athletic statement read.
Yeray made 33 appearances for the Basque giants last year despite his season being disrupted by the first diagnosis and his Athletic team mates have shown solidarity with his condition by previously shaving their heads.
