Espanyol striker Leo Bapistao is set to miss between two and three weeks of action after sustaining a thigh injury in Sunday’s defeat against Valencia.
The Brazilian striker was forced off in the 15th minute of the Catalan side’s defeat to high-flying Valencia after feeling tightness in his left quadriceps.
A club statement on Tuesday confirmed the 25-year-old would miss ‘between 15 and 20 days’ following tests carried out on Monday.
Bapistao has started all 12 of Espanyol’s La Liga games this season, netting three goals but is now set to miss the league games with Getafe and Eibar, alongside the Copa Del Rey clash with Tenerife.
