‘Every game a Final for Malaga’

Malaga ‘must treat every match as if it is a final’ because they are bottom of the league, according to defender Roberto Rosales.

The Venezuelan international has started 109 La Liga matches since moving to La Rosaleda from FC Twente in 2014, and insists Malaga – who have lost nine of their opening 11 games – must be at their best from now on.

“We must treat every match as if it is a final,” Rosales told an interview with Marca.

“When you are bottom of the league you must seek solutions for a way out of that situation and if we don’t take everything with the ultimate seriousness, we will continue to struggle.

“Deportivo will make things difficult for us but this is the only game we can concentrate on, we must focus on tightening things defensively and not making any mistakes.

“We are at home and we must remain united and work hard together, we hope we can replicate the performance and result we secured against Celta Vigo.”
