Michel accepts Malaga responsibility

Malaga Coach Michel accepts ‘a lot of the responsibility’ for the club’s slow start to the season should be shared by him.

The Andalucian side have lost nine of their opening 11 La Liga games and sit rock bottom of the standings, sitting four points off safety.

“A lot of the responsibility for our problems lies at my door,” Michel explained on Radio Marca.

“The truth is four points from eleven games is not good enough and I cannot escape the criticism that comes with this.

“I am always clear and honest with my players and naturally, whilst sometimes I get angry, I am generally positive because I need my players to be.

“I cannot be allowed to transmit negativity to my players, but we have to learn from what we have done wrong and allow this to improve us going forward.

“We have improved recently and shown more consistency but maybe our league position means the players cannot play to their potential as there is more pressure.

“I cannot look ahead as far as the January transfer window, my job as Coach is to get the most out of every player I have here.”
