Ronaldo wants Madrid exit – report

Cristiano Ronaldo wants to leave Real Madrid next summer and has informed the club of his decision, according to reports.

The 32-year-old wants to leave the Bernabeu due to his tax situation in Spain alongside the club’s rumoured pursuits of Kylian Mbappe and Neymar, state Diario AS who cite TV show El Chiringuito.

However, the club have no intention of selling the Portuguese superstar and point to his contract until 2021 which contains a €1,000m release clause.

Ronaldo told reporters in the aftermath of Madrid’s 3-1 defeat at Tottenham that he had no intention of renewing his current contract with the club.

His current deal earns him in the region of €21m a year, which is well short of Neymar’s rumoured €35m annual salary and a reported €40m Lionel Messi is set to earn should he sign an extend Barcelona deal.
