Rodrigo: I’m full of confidence

Rodrigo Moreno admits he is ‘playing with a lot more confidence’ this season and believes this is down to Valencia Coach Marcelino.

The 26-year-old has scored nine goals in his last 10 outings for club and country, playing a key role in the strong form of both Valencia and Spain.

“Right now I’m playing with a lot more confidence,” Rodrigo told an interview with Marca.

“Players just don’t forget how to play football, but confidence is a big thing and everyone goes through good and bad runs of form, in football you experience the bad as well as the good.

“Nine goals in my last ten games? Obviously, I’m pleased with these figures but this is because of our work as a team and it is getting the best out of us both individually and collectively.

“Going to the World Cup? It will be tough, Julen has many players to chose from in all the positions, no less my own.

“But he is giving everyone opportunities and if I can steer clear of injuries and stay in form, then who knows?

“My aim now is to continue to play well and score goals.”
