Pellegrino formalises Alaves complaint

Southampton manager Mauricio Pellegrino has issued a formal complaint against former club Alaves over an alleged unpaid €500,000 bonus.

The Argentine and his coaching staff claim they are owed the payment for helping the Vitoria-based club to last season’s Copa Del Rey final against Barcelona.

Marca claim the structure of the request relates to Pellegrino and his staff Xavi Tamarit, Carlos Compagnucci, David Rodriguez and Javier Lopez Vallejo being owed €100,000 each.

Last month, Alaves denied the claims and insisted all due payments had been made but the Saints boss reportedly attempted to once more contact the club privately, but received no response.
