Sergi Roberto suffers hamstring tear

Barcelona have confirmed that Sergi Roberto tore his hamstring during Tuesday’s 0-0 draw with Olympiakos in the Champions League.

Sergi Roberto pulled up at the end of the first half in Piraeus, and a statement on Barca’s official website explained the midfielder had sustained “a fibrillar tear in the biceps femoris of his right leg.”

Furthermore, he will undergo more tests on Wednesday so that “the exact extent of his injury can be known.”

A tear suggests the 25-year-old has at least a grade-II injury, leaving him liable to miss at least several weeks of action.
