Deulofeu ‘feeling important’ at Barca

Gerard Deulofeu says he finally “feels important” at Barcelona after scoring in their 2-0 win against Malaga on Saturday.

Deulofeu has taken five years to establish himself in Barca’s first team, with spells at Everton, Sevilla and Milan along the way, but the winger believes it has been worth the wait after another eye-catching performance on the Blaugrana’s left wing.

“I’ve had two or three good games in a row and I must keep that going, helping the team. I’m feeling important,” he said after the game.

“Digne out of play? I didn’t see the ball go out, but it wasn’t a bad thing because I read his [cross].

“It was a tough game because they pressed well, but the three points were important so we could extend our winning run.

“Suarez’s drought? The goals will come for him. He’s like Messi.

“There may be two more games when he doesn’t score and then two or three when he does in succession. There’s nothing to worry about.”
