Pereira apologises to Valencia

Valencia midfielder Andreas Pereira has apologised to the club via social media after he was arrested for speeding.

The on-loan Manchester United player [pictured, right], who spent last season on a similar arrangement with Granada, was caught driving at 148 kilometres per hour in a zone with a 50 kilometres per hour speed limit in the city’s Maestro Rodrigo Avenue on Monday.

“I regret very much speeding in my car yesterday evening and I will accept any punishment I receive,” he posted on Twitter.

“It is important to be careful when driving and to always respect the regulations. Lesson learned.”

The speeding offence will now be handled by a court for a crime against road safety.
