Setien praises ‘positive football’

Real Betis Coach Quique Setien has hailed both teams playing ‘positive football’ during his side’s 4-4 draw at Real Sociedad.

In a pulsating encounter at a rain-soaked Anoeta, Betis took the lead on three occasions and fought back once in an end-to-end tussle.

“Both teams tried to win with positive football,” explained Setien to the Betis website.

“Obviously defending is important and we must improve this aspect but both sides saw attacking and scoring as the most important facet of the match.

“Both sides played with men ahead of the ball so the game was open and there were many chances for both teams, which makes for a hugely entertaining match.

“If I wasn’t a Coach in the game – I would really have enjoyed the game!

“Real Sociedad are a great team and this could be a valuable point but the defender (Diego Llorente) should definitely have been shown a red card, and maybe we should have had a penalty too (for the foul on Sergio Leon).

“We have started very well but now we have another very difficult match against Valencia and we must keep working to add as many points as possible.”
