Griezmann: I wasn’t good enough

Antoine Griezmann admitted “I didn’t play well and could’ve done better” during Atletico Madrid’s 2-1 defeat to Chelsea on Wednesday.

Griezmann scored a penalty to give Atleti the lead against Chelsea, but his side ultimately lost to a last-ditch goal and the Frenchman felt “there’s no harm in admitting” the Blues were the better team.

“Defeat? It was a complicated match,” he said after the game.

“It wasn’t to be, but we still have a lot of games left and we have to win them all.

“I could’ve done better. Apart from my goal, it wasn’t a good night for me, I didn’t play well. We have to keep working.

“Chelsea? In the first half, they were on top of us, and in the second half they were better than us.

“We tried [to win] until the end, but it wasn’t to be. They were better than us, everyone could see it and there’s no harm in admitting it.

“Roma winning? We have to win every game we have left and we’ll see after that.”
