Sevilla Coach Eduardo Berizzo has praised his team on an ‘authoritative victory’ over Slovenian side Maribor on Tuesday night.
A hat-trick from Wissam Ben Yedder put Los Rojiblancos in control and they now lead the group after Liverpool and Spartak Moscow’s stalemate in Russia.
“We won with a lot of authority,” Berizzo told his press conference, as quoted by Diario AS.
“We kept possession very well and sped up our play at just the right moments to hurt the opposition.
“We were able to change our tempo and manage the game well, controlling when we needed to be yet damaging at the right moments.
“Ben Yedder was fantastic but only because the team worked well and gave him the right opportunities and I have no doubt this will happen with Luis (Muriel) too.
“My suspension? It was strange not to be able to stand next to the pitch, but with the tranquility of an aerial perspective, it all looks easier!”
