Ben Yedder hits Maribor hat-trick

Wissam Ben Yedder’s hat-trick fired Sevilla to a comprehensive 3-0 victory over NK Maribor in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Sevilla were dominant from start to finish, hitting 13 of their 19 attempts on target and seeing over 70 percent of the ball.

Leading their charge was Ben Yedder, who helped himself to two, well-taken finishes in the first half, before converting a penalty late on.

“We also need Luis [Muriel] to have a match like this,” Coach Eduardo Berizzo said after the game, which moved the Andalusians top of Group E.

“It’s not just down to [Ben Yedder]. He scored because his teammates gave him the ball and Luis needs that too.

“Great players are a blessing, and you have to try to put them all together so that the team have such firepower up top.”
