Berizzo praised for ‘outstanding’ start

Sevilla Coach Eduardo Berizzo has been praised for ‘an outstanding month’ and his strong start by club president Jose Castro.

The Argentine is the first Los Rojiblancos in 70 years to go undefeated throughout his first seven matches in charge, including winning three of his side’s opening four La Liga fixtures.

“We are delighted with our early situation,” Castro told the club’s media channel.

“He is a serious Coach who has quickly adapted to the club and not only is he an excellent manager, but he is a good person and has the right skill set to succeed.

“To have 10 points from 12 and to be undefeated in seven games, reaching the Champions League group stages, it is an outstanding month.

“It would be premature to say we are playing well but the results are coming and performances are improving and will continue to improve.

“We have new coaching staff, a new sporting director and nine new players so things will take time to reach their peak of course.

“Are other clubs able to have such mass change every summer and continually achieve success, I don’t think that is the case – these results don’t just happen by accident.”
