Preview: Girona-Sevilla

Girona will be relying on home form when they welcome Sevilla, who will make changes after playing in the Champions League midweek.

Girona boss Pablo Machin on the importance of playing at Montilivi: “A big percentage of our survival chances stem from being strong at home.

“Our opponents will demand a lot from us, but this doesn’t influence our intentions, which are always to win.”

Sevilla boss Eduardo Berizzo on ‘flipping the switch’ after the Champions League: “It’s not complicated but it does have to be understood that there’s no relaxation after a game as tense as midweek’s.

“The Liverpool match demanded a major physical challenge, and we ended it better than them.

“We have to keep that tone, so we mustn’t drop our intensity. Therefore, we’ll make some changes.

“Girona? They’ve started La Liga well. Staying up there is very important. Places like these are where you get the points to do that.”
