Amrabat: I’m back in the best league

Nordin Amrabat has revealed his joy at returning ‘to the best league in the world’ after joining Leganes on a season-long loan from Watford.

The 30-year-old spent two years at Malaga before joining Watford, then coached by Espanyol boss Quique Sanchez Flores, in January 2016.

“It has only been two years since I played in Spain and I wanted to return to the best league in the world,” told reporters at his presentation at the club.

“Many players come back here and do very well, I'm looking forward to playing  for this club and giving my all.

“I could not see the derby (against Getafe) but watched the victories over Alaves and Espanyol, which were very impressive – this is a great club with a strong team.

“Where do I like to play most? I’m happy to play anywhere in the attack, but I’m most comfortable on the right-hand side.”

Amrabat made 48 appearances for the Hornets but was deemed surplus to requirements by new manager Marco Silva after they signed ex-Sevilla target Marvin Zeegelaar.
