‘Bernabeu can motivate Levante’ – Muniz

Levante Coach Juan Muniz has called on his players to be ‘motivated’ by playing in the Bernabeu and spring a surprise on Real Madrid.

The newly-promoted side travel to the Spanish champions in Saturday’s early kick-off and are so far unbeaten upon their return to the top flight.

“These stadiums are what should motivate you as a player but we won’t just be making up the numbers,” Muniz is quoted as saying by Marca.

“We must work hard, take our opportunities and not get distracted, because Madrid will punish us if we fail in these basics.

“We must minimise their technical skill and their strengths and play the game on our terms but also perform at our maximum level, but that is possible.

“Zinedine Zidane? I can simply admire and respect him…for someone who has won so much, there is no room for further opinion.

“I am happy with the start we have made to La Liga, it is a tough league full of high quality sides but I do not believe we are out of place and our start shows that.

“We must now aim to be consistent, we are very happy with our summer business and the squad we have will now all pull in the same direction.”
